The entire thing is symmetrical, even the shelves, because that is more appealing to the eye.

Because the top shelf was built 'open', except for the back, every thing that sits on it can easily be taken out or have things plugged into it. Having open media furniture even allows your tool to breathe so it will not overheat but have good air flow.

There are many things to consider while watching any kind of media furniture. Each person is going to have a distinctive picture of the way they want it to look or what they want it to do.
